TFP Hydrogen Products are delighted to announce that we have entered into a joint cooperation agreement with Cathodic Protection Co. Ltd regarding the development of high efficiency, durable and low maintenance electrochlorination systems. The technology is used effectively in marine anti-fouling of oil and gas platforms, power stations, and in desalination plants.

The company brings its extensive and specialist electrochlorination and copper chloride antibacterial systems knowledge and engineering capability to the partnership.

The primary focus of the agreement is the development of chlorine based anti-fouling systems for the marine market which use electrochlorination as part of the design. Electrochlorination is an electrochemical process used to generate chlorine-based disinfectant by passing an electric current through salt (or sea) water.  This is used to disinfect large volumes of wastewater or other industrial water and prevent bacterial growth. The technology can be applied to a number of industries, including power stations and oil & gas platforms where it can prevent bio-fouling of critical equipment, such as pumps, by filtering and disinfecting the water before it is circulated.
